Short distance free space optical
interconnects
D-Lightsys is currently working on a new product family for free
space optical interconnects up to 2.5Gbps on distances ranging from
a few centimetres to 2 meters.
D-Lightsys aim is to produce highly position-tolerant optical link
that could be associated to a patented dynamically re-configurable
communication architecture, well suited for multicast or broadcast
applications.
D-Lightsys free space optical modules will permit the design of
re-configurable network solutions using one single wavelength for
several users.
D-Lightsys free space modules will also target board-to-board optical
data communications.
Full-duplex bidirectional single
fibre transceivers
D-Lightsys is developing a single fiber single wavelength bi-directional
transceiver. Such a low-cost module will permit transmission and
reception over one single fibre, which, in turn, will enable a significant
reduction of the weight and volume of the global data link. D-Lightsys
patented architecture has recently been validated through a demonstration
bench. Prototype versions of the module should be available at the
end of 2005. The industrial product resulting from this activity
will be included in the S-Light family.
10Gbps optical interconnect
transceivers
Future 10Gigabit Ethernet (10GE) based systems are already under
development. D-Lightsys will expand its S-Light family of transceivers
with a 10Gbps severe environment compliant module. This module will
target the 10GE physical standard performances and will be compatible
with the aerospace environment requirements.
4-channel parallel optical interconnect
transceivers
D-Lightsys will expand its D-Light parallel
module family with several parallel transceiver modules integrating
4 transmitters and 4 receivers within a single package.
